Cellist Ho Jung Kim is renowned for her beautiful sound and formidable technique, captivating audiences through her diverse performances. She gives approximately 30 to 40 concerts annually, spanning various genres, including solo recitals. Notably, she was featured in the prestigious “Cello Duelo with 100 Cellos” concert at the Seoul Arts Center, where she served as both performer and music director. In 2015, she also performed at the distinguished “11 o’clock concert.” Recently, Ms. Kim appeared as a soloist with the Daegu Philharmonic Orchestra in their 466th concert.

Ms. Kim has released two recordings, one of which is “BACH Suites III, IV,” published by Ruby‘s Polka in March 2016. In 2019, she was selected as Artist in Residence at Suseong Artpia in Daegu, South Korea.

Currently, she is a professor of music at Kyungpook National University in Daegu. Throughout her career, she has played with various prestigious orchestras, including the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra, Salzburger Kammerphilharmonie, Hessischer Rundfunk Orchestra, and Kölner Kammer Orchestra. She has also served as principal cellist for both the Korean Symphony Orchestra and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ms. Kim began her music education at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. In 1993, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University before continuing her studies in Europe. She completed her first artist diploma, “mit ausgezeichnetem Erfolg,” at Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, and earned the prestigious “Musikhochschule Konzertexamen” from Köln Musikhochschule in Germany.
