Mark gubler

Mark Gubler places strong emphasis on education and administration in his career as a musician. He started his career in St. George in 2017, and currently works as the founding director of Resonance School of Musicianship while maintaining a large piano studio comprised of students of all ages and abilities.

When teaching in his private studio, Mark places emphasis on personal connection and meaningful progress above awards and achievements. However, many of Mark’s private students have received notable recognition. These include: Southwest Symphony Salute to Youth Competition Winner, Southwest Symphony Salute to Youth Competition Finalist, Sterling Scholar Music Regional Winner, Dixie’s Got Talent Competition 1st Place Winner, Southern Utah Performing Arts Festival (SUPAF) 1st-3rd Place Division Winners, Zion Piano Performing Arts Festival 1st Place Division Winner, UMTA Performance Evaluations Honors Recital Nominations, UMTA Achievement in Music Awards, as well as many successful performances in recitals, church, and other events. Mark has also had students accepted with scholarships to major universities including University of Utah and Utah Tech University.

Mark has worked at Utah Tech University as an adjunct professor of piano, as Castle Rock Piano Camp coordinator and clinician, as the SUPAF piano area coordinator, and as the UMTA Performance Evaluation Chairperson. Though teaching and administration roles keep him busy, Mark finds time to perform for the public on occasion.

Mark is a graduate of Utah State University, having completed his Master of Music (4.0 GPA) and Bachelor of Music (Magna Cum Laude) degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. While attending USU, he studied with nationally acclaimed piano pedagogue, Professor Gary Amano. Mark also worked in the Youth Conservatory at Utah State University as a private piano teacher and classroom instructor, was a supervisor and trainer of entry level piano teachers and taught various collegiate level courses. Mark’s skill as a pedagogue earned him prestigious titles and awards including USU’s Youth Conservatory Teacher of the Year Award, and the Edward McCallson Memorial Award.​
