Mark gubler

Mark Gubler places a strong emphasis on education and administration in his career as a musician. He currently works as the founding director of Resonance School of Musicianship, and maintains a large piano studio comprised of students of all ages and abilities. Mark has also worked at Utah Tech University as an adjunct professor of piano (2017-2018, 2020), a Castle Rock Piano Camp coordinator and clinician (2017-2019), as the SUPAF piano area coordinator (2018), and as the UMTA  Performance Evaluation Chairperson (2018-2020).

Mark is a graduate of Utah State University, having completed his Master of Music (4.0 GPA) and Bachelor of Music (Magna Cum Laude) degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. While attending USU, he studied with nationally acclaimed piano pedagogue, Professor Gary Amano. Mark also worked in the Youth Conservatory at Utah State University as a private piano teacher and classroom instructor (2012-2017), was a supervisor and trainer of entry level piano teachers (2015-2016), and taught various  collegiate level courses (2015-2017). Mark’s skill as a pedagogue  earned him prestigious titles and awards including USU’s Youth Conservatory Teacher of the Year Award (2014), and the Edward McCallson Memorial Award (2015).

Mark’s success as a performer is due in part to having the opportunity to study with the following world class pianists: Norman Krieger, Kevin Kenner, Richard Goode, Barry Snyder, Stephen Beus, Spencer Meyer, Adam Nielsen and Karén Hakobyan. The wisdom gained from these masters aided his success in the collegiate divisions of the MTNA State Solo Competition (2015), and the UMTA Concerto Competition (2016). Since 2011, Mark has been a favored recurring guest performer in the annual USU Cool Classics Concert Series, as well as an honored soloist selected to perform with the Orchestra of Southern Utah (Roy L. Halversen Young Artist Concert, 2006), and the Southwest Symphony (Salute to Youth, 2007).
