Nancy is a native of Southern Utah with ancestry in Washington County through the early settlers of this region. She comes from a musical background and demonstrated an early interest in music playing classical melodies by ear on the piano after her mother’s piano students left their lessons. Nancy has a passion for piano and piano music. Piano and Cello are her main instruments. She performs with Symphony of the Canyons and is the director of Guymon Music Studio. Her musical training began at home, extended through schools in Southern and Northern Utah, throughout the Western States. West Coast, and Tennessee. A love of music led Nancy to pursue three music degrees. She has taught as Adjunct Music/ Piano Faculty and performed at Universities from Utah to Tennessee. For over 30 years she has been certified and licensed to teach in Utah, Tennessee, and Arizona. More recently she developed and taught music programs K-12 in eight public schools in the Mountain West since 2014 and has taken her students to earn Excellent ratings in Festivals in Arizona. Nancy is very excited to return to her roots in Southern Utah and accept a teaching assignment at Dixie State University. Even more thrilling to her is the continual growth of music programs and recent addition of a Piano Pedagogy Degree at the University.
