Young Artist Competition

You are invited to participate in the 6th annual Young Artist Competition on February 15, 2025. We have a lot of talent in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada and we want to showcase this talent!

Five levels of competition on each instrument

(Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, and Bassoon )
Level 1 Intermediate School Grades 6-7
Level 2 Middle School Grades 8-9
Level 3 High School Grades 10-12
Level 4 Collegiate Undergraduate only
Level 5 Adult

Students may try out for a higher level, but they cannot go down a level. Prizes will be awarded for each level of competition.

Please register for the competition by February 1, 2025. A schedule will be sent out to participants by February 8, 2025. If you are traveling a distance to get to St. George, that will be taken into consideration when creating the schedule.
The competition will be held on Saturday February 15, 2025.

Virtual Competition: video submission are due on February 10, 2025.  Please send videos to Dr. Candice Behrmann Tenney at candice.behrmann@utahtech.edu

Registration fee:

There is a $25 registration fee for the competition

Prizes:

Prizes awarded in each instrument and category

  • First prize will include an opportunity to solo with the Utah Tech University Flute Choir Fall of 2025
  • Prizes include a free lesson with a University professor
