Debra’s education from The Rolf® Institute of Structural Integration, Boulder Colorado, placed emphasis on the study of emotional anatomy, body mechanics, and body history interpretation. Debra has been in private practice for 23 years, and has increased her scope to working with horses and dogs.
“Playing cello has been a great way to balance my life. Debra currently plays with Southwest Symphony, St George, Southern Nevada Symphony, Mesquite, Nevada, Southwest Symphony Strings, and the Cello Society of Southern Utah. “I am intrigued by the magic of the cello! I appreciate the opportunity to help cellists ‘stretch their body as well as their playing potential’. Playing the cello is an athletic event. Cellists remain in a static position for long periods of time. It is important to keep physically fit to prolong stamina and prevent injuries.”
Debra’s yoga practice has been a key factor in helping herself and others. She sees Yoga as a simple yet versatile relaxation technique that has many fitness benefits. “Yoga encourages focus and discipline in all areas of life.”
Debra also enjoys playing the piano, violin, viola, and loves early music. The viol da gamba is her favorite period instrument.
